International Relations

CBCI became a member of the IBBY in 1964, and acts as the National Section for Iran. It actively participates in all IBBY activities such as the nomination of Iranian writers, illustrators, translators for IBBY awards; the translation of the International Children’s Book Day (ICBD) messages into Persian; collaboration with Bookbird; nominations of members for EC and H.C. Andersen Award Jury; and participation in IBBY Congresses. CBCI also contributes to the IBBY Documentation Center of Books for Disabled Young People

To obtain international experience colleagues have been nominated for scholarships to the International Insitute for Children's Literature and Reading Research (Austria), International Youth Library (Germany), and International Institute for Children's Literature Osaka (Japan).

CBCI participates in the various activities of the Biennial of Illustrators of Children’s Books (BIB) Bratislava.

CBCI provides quality Persian books for the International Youth Library in Munich several times a year.

CBCI has also acted as an implementing partner to UNHCR , UNICEF, and Ockenden International, mainly for projects related to Afghan refugee children.

In response to requests by institutions and publishers from different countries, CBCI recommends Persian works for translation, and provides books for exhibitions.
